"Psychology allows me to see the path of the search, art allows me to walk through it."

Chris Contreiras, plastic artist and clinical psychologist, Brazilian, was born in Brasília, DF in 1965 where she still lives today. Daughter of banker and a sought-after union that had as hobby the painting, produced her first screen at the age of 12 oriented by her mother, at the time, with oil paint.
Around the age of 20 she worked with children in art classes and at age 36 she launched herself as a plastic artist, after a time of crisis and great changes, paintings produced on sleepless nights, and that made her life palatable during this phase.
Art, which had entered her days as catharsis, from there, became a new path. A path that provides balance and harmony through self expression.

The artist speaks in her art of the beauty of the feminine universe, of the strong, powerful woman who throws herself into life and deconstructs moorings.
For her, art is denunciation, questioning, harmony and lightness, a language capable of saying what words can not express, a way of placing oneself in the world creatively and deliberately free.
Being aware that her art touches who sees you, your emotion and translates your feelings and thoughts, is what gives meaning to all of her creation.
In love with Beatriz Milhazes, Klimt, Bansky, Chris Contreiras seeks to impress the delicacy of the feminine universe in a beautiful, imposing way.
Chris Contreiras has been improving her studies and researches, making her art strong in content and technique, paving the way for invitations and exhibitions in galleries and museums in New York, Palm Springs, Amsterdam, The Hague, Santo Domingo, Bulgaria, Oslo, Budapest and St. Paulo.
From the Federal Capital to the world!

"I aim to make my speech via art more and more clear and direct, making obvious the need for an urgent awareness of the feminine and feminism, which, speaking of equality, also speaks about love."
